My franchise wisdom was gained from franchising a company I began in 2001 called Pure Barre. I started developing the product and brand with a single location and a few years later began licensing it out. In 2009 I converted to a franchise model, not by choice, but because my competitors had me served. Despite the fact I had a law degree, I knew nothing about franchise law and learned via being in the trenches and making plenty of mistakes. I hit 100 locations with just myself and 2 employees before selling a majority to private equity. I share my highest learnings in this Guide Book. If you are thinking about franchising your idea, these questions and tips will help you figure out if franchising is the best option for your business and if it’s something you want to pursue personally.
